Our Church
South Somerville Baptist Church was established in the late 1800’s has been spreading the good news of the gospel for over 135 years. Come join us to hear simple Bible teaching and enjoy warm Christian fellowship. This is an assembly of believers that love our Lord Jesus Christ, each other and our community.
In December of 2021 Pastor Antonio, (Tony) Muniz was called to be the minister at South Somerville Baptist Church. Tony and his wife, Brenda, moved to Somerville January 14, 2022. He has also pastored churches in Ohio, South Carolina and Maine.
Pastor Tony was reared in Bucksport, Maine and graduated from Bangor Christian High School. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Ministry and a Master’s Degree in Theology. Along with pastoring he taught in a Bible College and has seven years’ experience as a fire department chaplain.
In I Timothy 4:2a the Apostle Paul tells young preacher Timothy to “Preach the Word; be instant in season, and out of season; . . .” Pastor Tony is known for his simple, systematic Bible teaching, which is verse by verse through books of the Bible so that unbelievers will be saved and Christians will “. . . grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. . .” II Peter 3:18a.
